A Rollercoaster Weekend

Well, this weekend was rather dull and busy, so I think one post will suffice for four days. Here goes:

Thursday: Classes were interrupted for it's campaign season here. All of those running for whatever position took a few minutes to pitch their ideas, and even though I can't vote, it's still fun to watch them run. A lot of the runners are using minions from Despicable Me as part of their campaign, there's even a guy who has a full on minion suit. That night, Sara and Cassie and I hit up The Roost. It was a fun time, as per usual. Eleri: I thought of you while we were taking photos.

Ladies night!
Stay true, right El?
Friday: When I went to go make breakfast, I found that some of my potatoes had rolled to the back of the cabinet and weren't good anymore. I was going to throw them away, but then I saw that my neighbor, Gareth, had his window open. So, I put them in a special place, and I waited. Once it was an appropriate time to be awake, Suze and I took turns throwing potatoes at his window. I actually got one in and was super excited. Luckily, Gareth was cool about it, and through them back at our windows. The ones that missed are now being enjoyed by an abundance of crows. Unfortunately, we got a call that said the extra tickets that we bought for the ball were sold without the people running the ball realizing that they couldn't fit that many people into their venue. So, we could no longer go to the ball. We were all really bummed. But just when I thought I was going to have a rotten day, my friend Maggie messaged me saying she was coming to Ireland and wanted to visit me. Now, to fully understand my excitement, I'm going to share a secret with all of you. Remember on my first trip in Ireland and I made a wish on the wishing stone at the Hills of Tara? Well, my wish was for someone, God could choose whoever, but I just wanted SOMEONE to visit me in Ireland. So, this was literally a wish come true. She and her friend, Jill (a previous SMC chick who transferred to ND) are studying abroad in London, and chose to spend their spring break in Ireland. I told them of course they were welcome, and we made plans for their time here.

Saturday: Because I now had friends coming, I realized I needed to finish up all my work so that I could have as much fun with them as possible. That meant lots of papers, so that was most of my day.  The one time I got out of the house was to go grocery shopping with the girls, and it was so nice to walk outside without a coat.

Today: I kept writing papers and doing research. I also cleaned the house to prepare for the girls getting here. The best part of the day was being able to play music and laugh at the dinner table with Sara, Cassie and Suze. They're really great friends, and I can already tell I'm going to miss them so much come June. (But I don't want to think about that!)

I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my friends, but I'll still work hard, I promise! Can't wait to tell you all of my adventures!
