Work Now, Party...Always

Alright, so here's a summary of the three days that you've all missed:

Monday: UGH. Basically, I missed exploring the streets of Scotland and not having to listen to professors. I was still very tired from waking up every morning with very little sleep, but I tried my best. Luckily, my last class was cancelled, so I was able to sit down and sort out my homework and relax for a bit. The girls and I got a huge surprise that night when maintenance came in WITH A BRAND NEW TOASTER. It was Christmas in Quilty 3. We'd never seen anything so beautiful in our lives. The delivery guys were a bit creeped out, but we were just so happy to finally be able to have toast. I'm sure you guys are, too. You're probably like, "Why are you so excited about warm bread?" Have you ever tried to eat grilled cheese, or a tuna melt, or have eggs and just want toast? Or suffered through the agony of having to warm your bread in the oven? Don't take your toasters for granted, friends.

Tuesday: The day was one big anxiety attack leading up to my immigration appointment at the police station in Leixlip (twenty minutes from Maynooth). I was so afraid that I'd forget something or they'd say something was incorrect. But, I was just fine. Sure, Sara and I went together and after our appointments, we stopped into a tiny diner for dinner. It was 50s themed and incredibly cute, so we had nice sandwiches and tiny classic milkshakes. When we got home, we gathered round Cassie's laptop and watched the Tell All episode of The Bachelor for a girls' night. While we were watching, my friend Maggie, who goes to Notre Dame and is studying abroad in London, contacted me to see if she could spend time with me next week while she spends time in Ireland. We've made plans for her and one of her friends to stay with me, and while they're here we'll be going to Blarney and touring the Guinness Factory. I'm so excited for her to get here! Sara also found out that the big dance here at the school was selling tickets again, since they had recently sold out last week in under five minutes. Cassie, Suze, Sara and I all agreed we'd try again once the purchasing time opened at eleven on Wednesday.

Today: I woke up early and went for a run this morning, and decided to take a road I hadn't tried yet. It took me down to a huge playground that was apparently by Maynooth Harbor. There were lots of ducks, many people walking their dogs, and many bridges. It was a rather warm morning for Ireland, and I enjoyed the sun making an appearance.

After eager minutes waiting in front of the computer, Sara got us our tickets, so we will be going to the ball! We'll be stopping in Dublin this weekend to hopefully buy floor length dresses and heels (just in time!). With all the excitement, I've been trying very hard to finish all my work so that I can have as much fun as possible. Tomorrow night we'll be heading to The Roost, but before that, I'll be writing my midterms. Wish me luck!
