Our trip started in Verona, which was probably my favorite city of the trip. I was very excited to be in Italy again, especially starting in a city that I hadn't visited yet. It was an extremely small city, we got through it in just over an hour. It was a cute place to be, with a central square centered around an arena and nicely colored buildings.

We stopped by Juliet's Terrace, but it wasn't what we thought it would be. The movie Letters to Juliet set my standards a little too high, you couldn't even leave a letter for Juliet, just write on the wall that was so covered by writing you couldn't even see your own writing if you wrote a message. It was still a cute spot, though, despite the whole tourist trap thing.

There was a resting spot that we took advantage of 3/4 of the way that had views almost as nice as the top.
| Chillin |
For a small town, there was quite a crowd at the top of our hill, but we sat on the edge of the wall, and enjoyed our view. There was supposed to be a beautiful church at the top as well, but it was shut for renovations.
Our hike gave us quite an appetite, so we trekked back down and into the city center to a place called Ippopotamo (yes, their icon was a giant hippo). We all enjoyed a nice pizza in the sunshine and people watched.
After our meal, we grabbed our bags and headed for the train to Venice. On our walk to the station, I snapped this picture, which almost captures how perfect Verona was for views.

We arrived in Venice just in time to beat the dinner rush. We took a nice walk to explore the streets, which was fun for me because I remembered walking them with Grandma Kay and Grandpa Bob. We chose the place we ate because a cute little waiter knocked on the window and blew us kisses, and convinced us we had to come inside. He gave us some very nice pasta and red wine that filled us up enough to put us to sleep, a perfect end to the day.
