Oh, Those Firenze Nights

We slept in a bit, but after some PBJ, we set out to explore. It was a little chilly, but the sun was out so how could we complain? We went to check out the Duomo, but the lines were way too long for us to go inside. But, we walked around it and in the square, admiring it's detail.

Maybe I'll see the inside someday
Cassie really wanted to see the Old Bridge, so we headed there next. There weren't many people on the bridge (thank goodness), and the views were better than the first time I had been there senior year.

Yes, that water is green
The sky is so pretty
We crossed the bridge and tried to visit a museum, but it was a little pricey. Instead, we found a grocery store, bought some apples and yogurt and ate in front of said museum. It was nice to be away from men hounding us asking if we wanted to buy a scarf or a selfie stick. After our snack, we took to see an imitation of the David statue, since we didn't really want to pay to see the real one. Yes, we enjoyed making fun of the statues.

Jeez, David! Cover up, man!
We wandered the streets for a while, peeking into some markets, checked back to the Duomo, because there wasn't a whole lot left to do. I googled cool spots in Florence, and found that there was a square on top of a hill that gave great views, so we decided that for dinner, we would find a place where we could order a pizza, grab some wine, and climb the hill to have dinner at the top. So, we walked back and chilled until it was time for our climb. Luckily, a pizza shop wasn't hard to find, nor was cheap wine. The stairs, however, were a little difficult. But, the top was totally worth it.

Good food and a great view
The whole city

Check me out
Someone was being sassy to me

Just chillin with Suze
We had to get home before the sun went down, but crossing back over the bridge was a beautiful sight as well.

Perfectly placed boat
A pit stop was made for gelato just down the street from our hostel, and it definitely hit the spot. It was a pretty great night in my opinion.
