I'm Basically a Professional Train Rider

Around 10, we traded our orange grove for train seats, and set back on our way to Naples to get to Rome. I was sad to leave our campground, because Pompeii had given me such a great time, but I was excited to set out to Rome, because I barely scratched its surface two years ago. If anyone does want to make a trip to Pompeii, I would highly suggest the campground, for we got a great hotel room for very cheap.

Goodbye Zeus!
Not much "misteri" anymore

Traveling was much easier this time around. Our trains were easy, though we did have to do a lot of waiting. However, we have become masters of waiting, waiting to leave, waiting to arrive, waiting for something to happen...we have become patient people. Also, solitaire masters. If solitaire was a team game, we could kill you. We would be the world champs.

We arrived in Rome at around five thirty, because our trains kept stopping for random reasons. Having eaten nothing but granola bars, graham crackers and apples, we immediately put away our luggage and set out to find a restaurant. I thought I would recognize the streets of Rome, after all, the streets of Venice, Florence, and ruins of Pompeii were all familiar to me. Yet, as we walked around, I felt like I didn't even know the city. I couldn't remember many plants being around when I first visited Rome, but on the street where we found our restaurant, there were these tall twisting trees lining the streets. It was really cool (Yes family, I realize I'm starting to appreciate trees like my father).

Not a great picture, but it was a cool scene
I enjoyed a nice mushroom pizza with the girls before we wandered around to find a grocery store to buy a few of our meals. We were warned that it wasn't safe to stay out at night, so any hopes of going out were crushed. We rushed home when it got dark, to our hostel, which for some reason was in the ghetto/china town part of Rome. It wasn't too bad though, nothing we couldn't handle. We fell asleep that night to the rush of cars and business owners conversing about their stores.
