Oranges, Mountains, and Pasta A La Strange

In the morning, while we waited for each other to get around, I enjoyed cheerios (we bought them at the grocery store the day before) in front of the beautiful orange trees outside our room. Yes, the campsite was basically an orange grove with random campers and hotel rooms amongst it. It was pretty nice, except for the fact that the oranges seemed to grow just high enough that we couldn't pick them. I don't like oranges, but I would've liked to have picked one, you know?

We felt we had explored enough of Pompeii, and Capri was talked about a lot, so we decided to head there. Sara was feeling a bit sick, but Cassie and Suze and I took to the train station to go on our daily adventure. One train and a boat ride later, were in Capri. It was a beautiful island, with cute little houses and paths. We had to climb to the top of a giant hill to get to the center square, but it was a great workout. We found a nice place with a terrace to have lunch, but there was nothing much in the square except places to eat. On our way back down, we paused at the side of the road to sit on a ledge and take in the view.

I didn't climb that but I felt like I did

Making my way downtown
As we were heading back to the docks, I spotted a little beach which we immediately ran to. The girls had never been in the Mediterranean, so we took turns wading in. It was a little cold, but I stayed in the longest because I loved it so much.

Clearly, I'm great with pictures
Pretty proud of this shot
Gelato was an obvious choice, which we enjoyed on the docks before heading back to our boat. Lucky for us, we didn't have a boring train ride home, because these boys hopped on board with their instruments and made sure we were entertained. They certainly loved hamming it up for my camera.

We all really wanted to go back to Lucius's for our last night, so when we returned, we headed straight there with Sara. He was very glad we had returned, and this time his son was there to take our order. I felt like I had gotten on a level where I could ask for something special with my order (I was really hankering for chicken, okay?), so when his son (who couldn't speak English well) took our order and I asked for chicken on my spaghetti, he gave me a really confused look, and asked his dad for help. When his dad asked me about it, and then found out my name, he said, "What a coincidence, my first love's name was Mara." Of course, he gave me what I asked for, and it was even better than the night before. When his son put our food in front of us, he said the name of each dish, but when he came to mine he said, "Pasta a la...strange?" We took pictures to remember our night, and we were even featured on the restaurant's Facebook page.

New friends!
Pompeii was probably my favorite town. It's nice to know that if I ever go back, I'd have some friends there (and that they could make me a great meal!)
